Hi,

I am taping an episode of a health and fitness TV show called "Mind, Body, &
Spirit" on Tuesday July 27th at 4PM in Macedonia at Cable 9.

The theme of this episode is "Following your Dreams". I am looking for
someone pursuing a unique life long dream or someone who has used meditation to
help them reach their goals or someone whose dream is helping an entire
community. For instance, one of my guests is pursuing a grant that will provide
free exercise classes to about 80,000 people. I am open to ideas.

It will be a 6-7 minute in studio interview. If you have a unique story and
are interested and available on the date above, please send me an email at
kmmk816 at yahoo.com.

   Thanks so much,

  Karen K

*Here is what a few of our students and parents had to say about Fairmount
Performing Arts Conservatory (FPAC) Summer 2010 First Session and Children
of Eden!
*

*I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful experience
Emily had in Children of Eden. The show itself fantastic, growing more
moving each time I watched. (8 out the 10 performances - and I cried EVERY
time!) And the cast as a group were so supportive of each other and
connected - a real "show family" feeling that is one of the best things
performing can offer. I think the display of tears from so many cast
members as the final performance came to its close said it all. Emily cried
for 45 minutes after we left, had dinner, got on facebook and cried some
more as she talked to various cast members! Between FPAC training and COE,
Emily says this has been the best summer of her life - what more can a mom
ask for? Although, I am still getting pestered because she was unable to do
the GLEE group at second session... I hope it is a huge success and you do
it next summer. I "pinky swore" (an unbreakable vow in our family) that she
could do it next year! She is looking forward to her EAT audition, and to
whatever else you have coming down the line. Bravo for all the work that
goes into creating this remarkable arts experience for young people - your
work is amazing.
*Shannon Wirthwein (mother of Emily Wirthwein)

I love FPAC. FPAC has become my other family. The staff is unbelievable and
they really know how to connect with us. The people are fantastic and I
could not wish for a better summer experience. I learned so much! Even
after 5 years! Staff ? LOVE ALL OF THEM!
Billy Lawrence

One of the best summers here ever! Superb! FPAC is absolutely incredible.
It for sure is my second home, all the instructors are wonderful and so
helpful. J
Jessie Gill

Over the past two years I have improved so much, and you can see my
improvement in every scene I perform. I am so glad I made the decision to
do FPAC because I have had so much fun and gotten more out of 3 weeks than I
ever thought I could.
Abigail Erwin

This is my second year at FPAC, and it certainly won?t be the last, love
everything!! J
All of the staff I worked with were both knowledgeable and friendly. I loved
all of them.
Justin Faulhaber

Loved it! I learn new things every year and have been HERE FOR SIX YEARS!
Staff ? I love you guys. Superb!
Hunter Evans

It is a rare opportunity to be completely engrossed in the study of theatre
and work alongside people who care about it as much as you do.
Luke Brett

SUPERB! This is my first year at FPAC, but I can say that I came out of it
a much greater actor and with many more friends.
Kayleigh Loveland

FPAC is the best performing arts conservatory I?ve known. All of the staff
are great. They are so talented and taught me a lot.
Hannah Watson

The staff is amazing. I have found wonderful teachers through this program.
This is a wonderful way to spend the summer. I feel like I develop so much
more each year I attend.
Siobhan Carroll

Never better! The staff, without a doubt, is the best ever in all my years
here!
Catie Lally

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious isn?t even a good enough word to explain
FPAC. J
Ashleigh Nagy

The program over all was different than anything I?ve ever done. This is
the most I have learned in an acting camp. I was humbled by the wisdom and
talent that these teachers gave us.
Kal Bowers

SUPERB! HELPS SO MUCH!
Dan Hoy

*Everyone uses the word "superb" because there is really no other way to
describe FPAC. It's the best performing arts training you will get anywhere
in northeast Ohio. You learn more than seems possible in three weeks from
the perfect team of teachers as well as from fellow students. I have to
mention Mitchell Fields' advanced acting class, as he gave us tools that
helped us grow immeasurably as actors. Working with Fred and the casts of
Joseph and Children of Eden were the highlights of my two years with FPAC; I
hope to come back as soon as possible!
Shea Lee*

I?ve learned SO MUCH!! Fpac was a wonderful experience, and I can?t wait to
come back! Everyone was so nice and easygoing ? with this staff you don?t
have to be afraid to make a mistake.
Emma Weihe

SUPERB! I loved the conservatory! I learned so much and had a great time. I
loved all the teachers.
Daniel Sovich

DOBAMA Theatre

Audition Notice for THE NEW CENTURY by Paul Rudnick

Synopsis: "The one-liners fly like rockets in THE NEW CENTURY, the
rollicking bill of short plays by Paul Rudnick. Building on time-honored
traditions within gay and Jewish humor, Mr. Rudnick turns stereotypes into
bullet-deflecting armor and jokes into an inexhaustible supply of
ammunition.Frivolity for his characters is a solid existential choice in a
threatening universe." -NY Times. THE NEW CENTURY is a funny and outrageous
comedy, but it doesn't stop there. Mr. Rudnick is in a provocative mood, and
the resulting work, set in New York City in the present day, raises
questions not easily answered.

About The Wedding SingerIn THE WEDDING SINGER, Robbie Hart is Jersey?s favorite
wedding singer. He?s the life of the party, until his own fianc?e leaves him at
the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as
his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. Only trouble is

Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull
off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
With a brand new score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980s,
North Canton Playhouse?s version of THE WEDDING SINGER takes us back to a time
when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might
just be the coolest guy in the room.

Surely you've heard the story - a shady businessman with a worthless
investment on his hands takes hundreds of thousands of dollars from the
unsuspecting backers, betting against his own success in hopes of
keeping their money. Is this Wall Street? Nope. Try five miles north -
it's Broadway!

CVLT presents Northeast Ohio's first production of Mel Brooks' /The
Producers/ to feature an all-volunteer cast. This hilarious musical
chronicles washed-up theater producer Max Bialystock and his
mild-mannered accountant Leo Bloom, who hatch a plan to get rich quick
by producing the most notorious flop in the history of Broadway! Along
the way, they enlist the help of terrible director Roger De Bris,
Nazi-sympathizing playwright Franz Liebkind, and Swedish bombshell Ulla
Inga Hansen Benson Yansen Tallen Hallen Svaden Swanson.

Based on Mel Brooks' hit 1968 film of the same name, /The Producers/ won
a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards in 2001, including Best Musical. It's
chock-full of the broad, goofball humor that made Mel's films like
/Blazing Saddles/, /Spaceballs/, and /Young Frankenstein/ comedy
classics. The score contains such gems as "I Wanna Be A Producer," "When
You Got It, Flaunt It," "Springtime for Hitler," and "Prisoners of Love."

Beck's 'The Producers' keeps it happy, snappy, gay

The all-seeing eye that appears on the back of the dollar bill is the universal
symbol for spiritual vision. The skull with crossbones on a bleach bottle is the
universal symbol for poison. The universal symbol for uproariously funny is Mel
Brooks' name in the production credits.

With his humor honed in the late-night cocktail lounges of Borsch Belt hotels
and on 1950s TV, Mr. Brooks' comic sensibility leans toward the sophomoric. His
material unapologetically exploits stereotypes and is blatantly offensive, yet
it is so obviously tied to a puerile punch line you can see coming a mile away
that it is rendered harmless and hilarious upon impact.

The Producers, currently in production at the Beck Center for the Arts until
August 22, is Mel Brooks' biggest success. It opened on Broadway in 2001 as the
staged musical comedy version of the 1968 film of the same name and became its
own film in 2005.

With the book, music and lyrics all written by Mr. Brooks, theater goers should
heed the universal symbol and proceed with caution. There's laughter ahead at
everyone's expense.

The story revolves around an unscrupulous Broadway producer and his na?ve
accomplice, who build themselves a guaranteed flop-a musical called Springtime
for Hitler that features goose stepping showgirls and lovable Nazis-so they can
pocket their investors' money.

Producer Max Bialystock is the fallen King of Broadway, riding an endless stream
of monumental failures with manic desperation. His counterpart, Leo Bloom, is a
walking anxiety attack with the dream of quitting accounting and becoming a
Broadway producer.

In the Beck Center production, director Scott Spence captures all that is
wonderfully irreverent in this musical and wisely sticks close to the original
production for inspiration. It is hard to argue with 12 Tony Awards.

The casting could not be better. In his portrayal of Max, Mark Hefferman
channels the manic tendencies of Zero Mostel from the first film, owns the stage
like Nathan Lane from the original Broadway production (and second film), and
adds his own comic flair to Max's big and boisterous personality. He also
brings a real humanity to the role, which is an unexpected and welcome addition.

Brandon Isner is superb as Leo. Although he is tentative and a bit vanilla out
of the gate, he finds his character's voice during the "I Wanna Be a Producer"
number and never turns back. A delightful singer and dancer, Mr. Isner proves
himself to be Mr. Hefferman's equal partner although Leo does not become Max's
until the end of the play.

This number also showcases Beck Center's go-to-guy in heels, Zac Hudak, as the
featured and least attractive showgirl.

Supporting roles in most Mel Brooks productions are little more than
one-dimensional characters, but they are all built for huge laughs in The
Producers.

As renowned cross-dressing theater director Roger DeBris, Kevin Joseph Kelly
doesn't just savor his moments on stage. He devours them and is nothing less
than remarkable. The "Keep it Gay" number, which presents Roger's
recommendation for staging the musical (and every musical, for that matter), is
a show-stopper. It also highlights the talents of a very strong ensemble.

Chris Richards as DeBris' common-law assistant, Carmen Ghia, matches Mr. Kelly's
flamboyance swish for swish and is delightful. Also superb is the
multi-talented Betsy Kahl as Bialystock and Bloom's sexy Swedish secretary,
Ulla, and Gilgamesh Taggert as Franz Liebkind, Springtime's fascist but fun
loving playwright.

The score in The Producers, much like the score in Mr. Brooks' other
film-to-stage musical Young Frankenstein, is quite forgettable. It is, however,
well delivered by Larry Goodpaster and his orchestra, and nicely accompanies the
much more memorable production numbers.

Choreographer Mary Ann Black and set designer Ben Needham demonstrate their
skills in every self-consciously lavish and intentionally overproduced number in
this show, all of which bare the indelible mark of the show's original
director/choreographer Susan Stroman. Less impressive or, perhaps, given less
attention are the first two musical numbers of the show, "Opening Night" and
"The King of Broadway."

Mel Brooks' humor works because he happens to love what he lampoons. This is
particularly evident in The Producers. The same can be said for the Beck Center
production of it.
