THE DROWSY CHAPERONE - UPCOMING AUDITIONS FOR STAGECRAFTERS' TEEN
ACADEMY

 

Orange Community Education and Recreation's Stagecrafters Teen Academy
announces auditions for their fall 2010 production of THE DROWSY
CHAPERONE, on September 12, 2010 at 2:00pm.  Auditions will take place
at the Pepper Pike Learning Center on the Orange City Schools Campus,
32000 Chagrin Blvd, Pepper Pike OH 44124.   Performances are scheduled
for November 19-21, 2010 at the Orange High School auditorium.

Auditions are open to students in grades 8 - 12.  Those wishing to
audition should prepare 32 measures of a musical theatre song in the
style of the show and written in key that demonstrates the auditioner's
particular vocal range.  An accompanist will be provided and a CD
/Cassette Player will be available for those wishing to use a
pre-recorded instrumental track. A dance audition will be included, so
comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear should be worn.  Audition
packets can be downloaded at the Stagecrafters section of

pack, including a rehearsal conflict form and parent signatures, should

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is the Tony Award winning musical that pays homage
to the silly, predictable gems of the golden age of musical theatre. It
all begins when a die-hard musical fan plays his favorite cast album, a
1928 smash hit called "The Drowsy Chaperone," and the show magically
bursts to life. We are instantly immersed in the glamorous, hilarious
tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day, complete with
thrills and surprises that take both the cast and the audience soaring
into the rafters.  The Associated Press calls it "DELIGHTFUL, SPARKLING
ENTERTAINMENT! You'll be over the moon! We haven't seen anything quite
this original in a long time." THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is produced in
cooperation with Musical Theatre International.
