"Fearlessly up to the challenge, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre,
under the brilliant directing of J.E. Ballantyne Jr., has scored and
scored big. With a marvelous cast and all the complex insanity
necessary, the theater on River Street has produced the best
all-around musical this writer has witnessed at CVLT in 35 years of
    reviewing."

    -- Herb Hammer, /Chagrin Valley Times/

"The current production of "The Producers" by Mel Brooks and Thomas
Meehan (with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks) at Chagrin Valley
Little Theatre is proof that a show this cartoonish, and with such a
large cast, can thrive in a small community theater space... The
audience is treated to surprises, pretty girls and warm, touching
moments... So many elements of the show are right, and in a show
this complicated, that is no easy feat."

    -- Marjorie Preston, /Sun News/

CVLT presents Northeast Ohio's first production of Mel Brooks' /The
Producers/ to feature an all-volunteer cast. This hilarious musical
chronicles washed-up theater producer Max Bialystock and his
mild-mannered accountant Leo Bloom, who hatch a plan to get rich quick
by producing the most notorious flop in the history of Broadway! Along
the way, they enlist the help of terrible director Roger De Bris,
Nazi-sympathizing playwright Franz Liebkind, and Swedish bombshell Ulla
Inga Hansen Benson Yansen Tallen Hallen Svaden Swanson.

Based on Mel Brooks' hit 1968 film of the same name, /The Producers/ won
a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards in 2001, including Best Musical. It's
chock-full of the broad, goofball humor that made Mel's films like
/Blazing Saddles/, /Spaceballs/, and /Young Frankenstein/ comedy
classics. The score contains such gems as "I Wanna Be A Producer," "When
You Got It, Flaunt It," "Springtime for Hitler," and "Prisoners of Love."
