He also casts for film, TV, and theater, and regularly teaches commercial technique classes and workshops in New York City and across the country. In the 2009 Back Stage Readers Choice poll, Shapiro was named “Favorite Commercial Workshop” and tied with Beth Melsky for “Favorite Commercial Casting Director.”
