An accompanist will be provided. If you do not have your audition song
memorized bring an extra copy of the sheet music for the accompanist. NO
TAPED music permitted.

You will also be asked to sight read.

Director Dave Stacko will cast four women and one man who can sing and
dance. The characters are:

*Reverend Mother:* the Mother Superior of the Little Sisters of Hoboken. She
tries to be strict and keep order, but things often get out of her control.
She grew up in a circus family and her "showbiz" background and sense of
humor always shine through her attempt at creating a tough exterior. She is
a Sophie Tucker type-- a bit on the hefty side--- and still able to belt out
a song. Age range late 40's -60's

*Sister Mary Hubert:* the Mistress of Novices and second in command to
Reverend Mother. At times she finds it difficult to deal with problems she
firmly believes are created by Reverend Mother's ineptness. She and Reverend
Mother have a healthy and humorous rivalry. She is very practical. She
should have a strong singing voice. Age range 30's-40's

*Sister Robert Anne:* a streetwise nun from Brooklyn, N.Y. She is one tough
cookie, but has a heart and soul of gold. She feels she has real theatrical
potential and is constantly frustrated by Reverend Mother's refusal to let
her "star" in the show. She is also the voice of the puppet Sister Mary
Annette during the Magic Act. Her voice should have a fairly-wide range,
since she has the most varied songs in the show. Age range 30's-40's

*Sister Mary Paul* (a.k.a. Amnesia): was hit on the head with a crucifix and
for a long period didn't remember who she was. Now she is a country singer
who jump- started her career by being the first nun to appear on The Grand
Ole Opry. Though her memory is back, she always seems to be a "little
vacant" but innocently endearing. She is the voice of the puppet Sister Mary
Annette in"Mae's Moment." She is a bit daffy like Goldie Hawn or Gracie
Allen. Age range late 20's-30's

*Howard Liszt:* a professional actor and singer who was to appear as Tevye
in the ship's production of "Fiddler on the Roof." Although he has been in
show business for many years, he has had limited contact with real show
business nuns. He may not be the best Tevye but he would be a fantastic
singing-game-show-host. Age range late 30's-mid 50's

The Story

By popular demand: The NUNS ARE RETURNING!!! Through a twist of fate the
Sisters (of Nunsense and Nuncrackers fame) are on an all expense paid trip
on the “Faiths of all Nations” Cruise Ship. A storm sickens all but one of
the entertainers on board, but the nuns save the day by joining forces with
“Tevye,” the last actor standing, to mount a show that ends up resembling
“Fiddler on the Roof.” Audience members will “set sail” as passengers in a
laugh packed adventure that only our beloved nuns can provide!
