Learn Musical Theater Audition techniques from Michael Rupert, a three-time Tony Award-nominee and Tony Award-winner for Best Supporting Actor in Musical for the 1986 revival of Sweet Charity. As an actor, his Broadway credits include Legally Blonde, Ragtime, Falsettos (Tony nomination), City of Angels, Mail, Sweet Charity (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award), Pippin, The Happy Time (Tony nomination).Off Broadway: Elegies and Putting It Together. As a composer: Mail (L.A. Drama Critics nomination), 3 Guys Naked From the Waist Down (Drama Desk nomination).

Students participating in the Musical Theater Audition Workshop should come prepared with one ballad and one up-tempo musical theater number.  Participants will learn the ins and outs of a musical theater audition, from how to enter the room to your closing "thank you"!  Students will have the opportunity to perform full musical theater numbers and audition selections and will receive feedback on their work.  Learn to make strong choices, take direction during an audition and what selections are appropriate for your "type".  Michael will share what he has learned in over forty years working in musical theater.  All related questions are welcome!
