Svetlana Todinova as she leads auditions with area dance students on Sept 30
What: Audition opportunity with Russian ballet soloist Svetlana Todinova and local dance students auditioning for the Cleveland premiere of Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker (12-17-10 at the Msaonic Auditorium) alongside the Russian cast of 40 dancers.
When: Thursday, September 30 at 6pm

Who: Moscow Ballet’s Russian soloist and dance instructor Svetlana Todinova
Svetlana Todinova, a Russian trained soloist with Moscow Ballet, arrives direct from Moscow and works with selected students in rehearsals. Todinova danced under the legendary Yuri Gregorovich, famous for his ballets at Moscow’s famous Bolshoi Theatre. She toured with the Russian Academy of Ballet Art and has performed in Holland, China, Spain, Italy, England, and the US. She has danced as a soloist with Moscow Ballet since 2006 and currently dances the role of the Dove of Peace. She is traveling with her 4yr old daughter.

Background - Moscow Ballet has presented the Great Russian Nutcracker for 17 years in 70 cities across North America. It is also known for its full-length productions of classic story-ballets; Swan Lake, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and others and was created by award-winning Juilliard alumnus, composer/conductor and theatrical producer, Akiva Talmi. In 2003, Moscow Ballet announced the appointment Vladimir Troshchenko, director of Odessa State Ballet and a pivotal figure in the ballet world, as Ballet Master.
