Speakeasy II
Presented by and Benefiting
UpStage Players and The Slovenian Workmen’s Home
Speakeasy II, a fundraising night of fun, games of chance, food, and a few
surprises, will benefit Northeast Ohio's own UpStage Players and the Slovenian
Workmen's Home. The October 2nd event will begin at 7:00 p.m. For only $10,
patrons will surely get their money's worth and more!
The night will feature: a New Orleans-style jazz band, games of chance,
selections of scrumptious appetizers, a free adult beverage, an affordable cash
bar, appearances by the UpStage Players Children's Theater Group, a Chinese
auction of locally donated and handmade items and services, and lots of
surprises and good times.
Perhaps the highlight of the evening will be a wide selection of games of chance
that patrons can partake in. Winnings will be dispensed in the form of Chinese
auction tickets that players can use to try to win their prize(s) of choice.
Chinese auction items range from locally handmade goods to a WKYC Bus Stop Kids
package to selections of fine art to event and theater tickets to weekend
getaways, and everything in between.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1920s vintage clothing, but all reasonable
attire will be accepted. Rumor has it that one of the night's surprises will be
opportunities for friends and "foes" to pay to have fellow attendees thrown in
"mock jail." The event will take place at the Slovenian Workmen's Home, 15335
Waterloo Road. For more information, call (216) 261-7591. To learn more about
