Karamu Performing Arts Theatre will hold auditions for singers and dancers
for its 2010 holiday favorite BLACK NATIVITY by Langston Hughes;
This seasons Artistic Team consists of Richard H. Morris Jr., Director;
Glenn Brackens, Musical Director; and Kevin Marr, Choreographer:
When: Monday October 11th 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Tuesday October 12th 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Callbacks: Wednesday, October 13th @ 7:00 pm
What: Singers should be prepared to sing two songs and be able to move
well.
Please come wearing comfortable clothing.
Singers should prepare two (2) contrasting Gospel Songs
One slow and one up tempo
Singers should bring: Resume and a Head Shot
Black Nativity is a theatrical presentation focused on the religious and
spiritual aspects of the Christmas story. It is performed with electrifying
gospel music, colorful costuming and with stunning dance context. One of
the most produced Christmas classics of all time and a Karamu holiday staple
Black Nativity is written by Karamu alumnus, Langston Hughes.
BLACK NATIVITY runs December 9, 2010 thru December 30, 2010, in the
Jelliffe Theatre
Preview Thursday, December 8th
Performances are Thursday thru Saturday @ 8:00 p.m and Sundays @ 3:00 p.m.
