[NEohioPAL] Improv Workshop with Susan Messing

Have you done some improv? Do you crave to do more?  Susan Messing will be leading TWO workshops in Cleveland. This is something you normally have to drive 6 hours for, pay tolls, and deal with parking. 

Susan Messing, a NJ native and graduate of Northwestern University’s Theatre School, is an alumnus of the iO, Second City’s Mainstage, and a founding member of the infamous Annoyance Theatre. She continues to teach and perform improvisational comedy @ iO, The Annoyance, Second City, and DePaul University. Her standup act with her puppet, Jolly, was featured at the HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and NBC’s Late Fridays, and her most impressive bit movie role was as a bad stripper in a halo brace in Let’s Go to Prison! Susan has been an improviser and comedian for over twenty four years. Nice things said about Susan include Chicago Magazine calling her “Funniest Woman in Chicago,” Chicago Reader naming her “Best Improviser in Chicago,” and recipient of CIF 2010 “Improviser of the Year.” You can see her f@&$ around in her critically-acclaimed show, Messing with a Friend, every Thursday @ The Annoyance, now in it's fourth year.

Cost:  $80 for both if you buy by Nov. 1
$45 per workshop if bought by Nov. 1
$50 per workshop is purchased after Nov. 1
 
Joy Joy Workshop with Susan Messing 
Saturday Nov. 20th  10-1pm
For levels: Intermediate - Advanced

Limit: 16 students 
Work getting stale and uninspired? Blaming your friends for your onstage misfortune? Just need a touch up? This class is for the improvisor who has fallen of the joy ride. Quick, easy fixes that will have you inspired and making your friends inspired too.
 
 

Character Workshop with 
Sunday Nov. 21st   11-2pm 
Get some character, so you don't stand there as yourself and argue until we're all bored to tears. Lots of specificity to pull out the comedy instead of hoping you'll be funny and then wanting to kill yourself. Your work will become more effortless, whether in long or short form.
