Auditions for the The 1940's Radio Hour  




Wooster--- The Wayne County Performing Arts Council (WaCPAC) will hold auditions for the musical  The 1940s Radio Hour  on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 7-9 p.m. and Sat., Oct., 23, 10 a.m. to noon at the Best Western,  located at 243 E. Liberty Street in Wooster 



The  1940s Radio Hour , by Walton Jones, tells the story of a group of actors, singers and musicians who are performing a live show in a small radio station  from the Hotel Astor's Algonquin Room on December 21, 1942. The play will be directed by Laurie Schang. 



Actors will be asked to sing and give a cold reading from the script. Piano accompaniment will be provided. A CD player will also be provided for actors bringing their own musical accompaniment. 



There are 13 parts in this show, 9 men and 4 women:  1 male character around 18 years old,  1 female character also around 18 years old,  1 male character in his mid 50s 
All of the other characters are adults over 30. Some actors will also have to dance. 



Performances will be January 21 and 22, and January 28-30, 2011. 



WaCPAC is a non-profit performing arts organization that has been providing performing arts opportunities in Wayne County for nearly 30 years.
