 TONIGHT
 THURSDAY, OCT. 14, 6:30 PM

KENT STATE UNIVERSITY MUSEUM'S THURSDAY NIGHT FILM SERIES
 BEGINS WITH "MORNING GLORY"

This is a showing of the 1933 Katherine Hepburn movie, Morning Glory (1933,
dir. Lowell Sherman), followed by a discussion with the audience on "Young
Kate: Bright, Brash and Bound to Glory." A joint program of KSUM and the
Women's Studies Program, Kent State University.

WHERE: Kent State University Museum, 515 Hilltop Dr. (Rockwell Hall, corner
of E. Main and S. Lincoln Streets) Kent State University Main Campus, Kent,
OH.

WHEN: 6:30 pm, Thursday, Oct. 14. The museum closes at 8:45 pm.

DETAILS: Morning Glory was Katharine Hepburn's third film. Her portrayal
of Eva Lovelace won her an Academy Award for Best Actress, the first of four
Oscars awarded to Hepburn in that category. Eva Lovelace is a young,
stage-struck girl from Vermont who goes to Broadway; attracts the interest
of a paternal actor, a philandering producer, and an earnest playwright; and
as an understudy-makes-good, debuts to accolades. The movie co-stars
Adolphe Menjou and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.

Program attendees are invited to tour "Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage
and Screen." The original exhibit is drawn from Miss Hepburn's personal
collection of performance clothes given to the museum by her estate in 2008
and presents stage, movie and TV costumes and publicity clothing worn by the
actress. Movie frames, stage stills, publicity shots, and other ephemera
are displayed with the costumes.

COST: General admission to the museum: $5 / Seniors: $4 / KSU IDs: Free.
