WORLD PREMIERE OF “STONE BY STONE” HIGHLIGHTS INLET DANCE THEATRE AND NEHEMIAH
MISSION FUNDRAISING CONCERT - NOV. 12-13, 2010

Sept.22, 2010 – Inlet Dance Theatre and The Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland have
partnered to offer Stone by Stone, a fundraising concert presented by Patriot
Security Systems at the Breen Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of
St. Ignatius High School, November 12 and 13, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Serving as a
benefit for both not-for-profit organizations, the performance will feature
exciting works from Inlet’s diverse repertory specifically chosen to reflect
commonalities between the two organizations’ missions, including the world
premiere of Stone by Stone by Bill Wade which is inspired by the Biblical story
of Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem.

The organizations discovered their similarities while both enrolled in The
Cleveland Foundation’s Project Access - a capacity-building program for faith
and community based not-for-profits. Jim Szakacs, Executive Director of the
Nehemiah Mission stated, “while The Nehemiah Mission rebuilds the lives of the
physically and fiscally challenged by providing services that improve their
living environments, Inlet uses dance to bring about personal development
through training, mentoring, and to speak creatively about life issues. Since
we both build community, we felt a concert based on these efforts would inform
and inspire all who attend.”
Inlet’s performance will feature the world premiere of Stone by Stone - a
contemporary retelling of the story of Nehemiah that uses the metaphor of stones
as hindrances for peoples’ quality of life. The work includes information
gathered from community members whose lives have been positively impacted by the
work of The Nehemiah Mission and features a Cleveland-based creative team of
composer Jeremy Allen, filmmaker Travis Pollert, and lighting designer Trad
Burns. Other Inlet pieces in the concert include Ascension, ImPAIRed, Beauty in
Tension, and The Door by acclaimed choreographer Steve Rooks.

The Stone by Stone Fundraising Concert presented by Patriot Security Systems
takes place on November 12 and 13, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at the Breen Center for the
Performing Arts on the campus of St. Ignatius High School (2008 West 30th
Street, Cleveland 44113). Reserved seating tickets are $30, with limited $60
VIP tickets that include a post-show reception with the Inlet dancers on
Friday. Tickets are available by calling 216.961.6968 or online at
