Improvised Shakespeare Company
The Improvised Shakespeare Company does fully improvised plays using the
language and themes of William Shakespeare. Since their founding in
2005, they have been named Chicago's best improv group by both the
Chicago Reader and Chicago Examiner and recently received a New York
Nightlife Award for "Best Comedic Performance by a Group." Based on
audience suggestions, the company creates a fully improvised play in
Elizabethan style. Nothing is planned-out, rehearsed or written. Each
play is completely improvised, so each is entirely new. Come prepared to
laugh and enjoy Shakespeare in a whole new light!
