*Audtions for the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild's production of:*

*THE MIRACLE WORKER*

*Open auditions this weekend for the*
*FOUR MAIN CHARACTERS ONLY:*
*Annie Sullivan, Helen Keller, Kate Keller, Captain Keller*
Sunday November 21 from 2pm - 5pm
Monday November 22 from  6:30pm - 9pm

*If auditoning for Helen or Annie, wear comfortable clothes to move in.
These roles are both very physical*.

*Open auditions for all other characters will be on:
*Sunday, December 5 from 2pm to 5pm
Monday, December 6 from 6:30pm to 9pm

*Auditions held at the Geauga Lyric Arts Center*
106 Water Street, Chardon, Ohio
(diagonally across from the Geauga Theater)

*The show will run for 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) from February 11 through
February 27.*
Show times are Friday/Saturdays 8 PM and Sundays 2 PM.
One Thursday evening school performance is planned for February 17.

A six week production schedule is planned, beginning January 2.
(The characters of Annie and Helen will start earlier).

We are seeking the following:
(On Nov 21 and 22)
*Annie Sullivan:  Female, *Helen's teacher.  Needs to be able handle
physical demands along with the ability to memorize a large amount of
dialogue. Knowledge of finger spelling advantageous, but not required.
*Helen Keller:  Female* that can look like a young girl.  Helen is  blind
and deaf.  Must be able to endure being hit, tugged and dragged while
fighting with characters. Knowledge of finger spelling advantageous but not
required.
*Captain Keller:  **Male* of 35 or more, father of Helen.
*Kate Keller:  **Female* of 25 or more, mother of Helen.

(On Dec 5 and 6)
*Viney Washington:  **Adult Female,* main servant to the Keller family,
(written as an African American role).
*Martha: * *Preteen Female,* servant and playmate of Helen, (written as an
African American role).
*Percy:  **Boy*, servant and playmate of Helen, (written as an African
American role).
*Aunt Ev:  **Mature woman*, sister of Captain Keller.
*James: * *Male* age 16 to 25, Helen's half brother.
*Anagnos:  Mature male, *Annie's teacher.
*Doctor:  **Mature male.*
*Jimmy:  **Young male,* for the off-stage voice of Annie's deceased brother.
*Students at the Perkins School:*  *Several girls.*
*Servants and off-stage voices:*  May be double cast from the above.

*NOTE:* While several roles are written as specific ethnicities, persons are
encouraged to audition regardless of ethnicity.
