Missile Command
has been playing out since November of 2003 (2005 in its current
incarnation), and has since gained a loyal following in the Cleveland
area. Though primarily an electronic band, they were honored to received
the Scene Magazine Award in 2010 for best goth/industrial band in
Cleveland. The band was started by Andrew Lent (formerly of Chew's Eye Shop and Filament 38),
along with Jim Maynard (formerly of Uniflux) and Matt Myers (formerly
of Basement Love Underground and Ein). They are currently joined by Dawn
Durdella (who is also singing for Opera Cleveland during their 2010 season) and Lori Lent (formerly of Autonomy).

Missile
Command’s first album, “Machines Should Think People Should Work,” was
released in 2008, much to the joy of the masses. It has been played
often on college and internet radio stations
 across the country. One
reviewer says “...if you choose to only download a song or two to
sample the wares: one of their strengths as a band is their diversity.
And while each song sounds like it belongs on the same album taken as a
whole, there's an awful lot of musical diversity on display here” (Amazon.com).

Missile
Command’s sound ranges from electro-pop to trip-hop to industrial, with
just about everything in between. Their stage show is engaging and fun,
which has led them to play at such eclectic events as the Convergence
Festival in Florida and "Yuri’s Night" at the Great Lakes Science Center, as well as numerous local and regional venues.

Going
against conventional electronic acts, Missile Command performs live,
utilizing synthesizers, keytars, theremins, and home built noise makers.
Mixing humor, technology, beauty and sensuous vocals, combined with
catchy lyrics, danceable music, and a powerful stage dynamic, Missile
Command redefines the
 electronic music experience.

The band's second album, entitled "The Future,” will be released this Friday, November 26th. The "Black Friday"
event will also feature Shadow Saints in their debut performance, as
well as FridiD Touch and DJ Textbeak. The show starts at 8:00 P.M. at
The Phantasy Nite Club, 11802 Detroit Road, Lakewood, OH 44107.
Admission is $4.00 for 21 and over, $6.00 for those 18-20.

There will be a special preview of the new album, along
with band interviews and giveaways this Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 8:00-10:00 P.M. on the Darewaves program on WRUW, 91.1 FM Cleveland. Tune in and see what awaits you in The Future!!!
