Ring in the Season with Family Holiday Events at LCCC's Stocker Arts
Center

Families of all ages can get in the holiday spirit with upcoming events
at Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts Center.

Lorain Community Music Theater will hold their annual Festival of Carols
at 7:30 p.m., Monday, December 6.

This event features area choirs performing songs of the season just in
time for the upcoming holidays! Featured choirs will include Elyria High
School, Firelands High School, Lorain Arts Academy, Lorain High School
and Vermilion High School. Lorain Community Music Theater, founded in
1976, has a mission to provide the Lorain County area with quality
musical theater, and offer both performance and educational
opportunities to local actors and musicians.

Tickets are $5. The Festival of Carols is presented with support from
CenturyLink and AM 930 WEOL.

The Patriots Symphonic Band will perform their festive and heartwarming
Christmas music at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 11.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for students and
children 12 and under are free.

Under the direction of Harry Pfingsten, the Patriots Symphonic Band will
feature guest Loras John Schissel, conductor of the Blossom Festival
Band. Together they will bring a full suite of holiday carols, along
with some fun, new arrangements of familiar Christmas songs. The evening
will feature the vocal talents of soprano soloist Lorrie Coughlin on
several popular selections, including moving renditions of "Silent
Night" and "O Holy Night."

Other special treats include an exciting trip on "The Polar Express"
(with a visit from the conductor), and young children in the audience
will be invited to the stage to sit at Santa's feet while he reads the
wonderful story "The Night Before Christmas."

Tickets to both shows can be ordered online at
www.lorainccc.edu/stocker, or by calling the Stocker Arts Center box
office at 800-995-5222 (ext. 4040) from 12-6 p.m., Monday through
Friday. Tickets are also available at the box office, located in the
lobby of the Stocker Arts Center. Free children's tickets for the
Patriots Symphonic Band performance are only available at the box
office.
