Two local Hair Salons team with Beachwood's Community Theater to assist Children's Hunger Alliance

Beachwood Community Theater chooses to give back to the community each holiday season. This year they have teamed with the Children's Hunger Alliance of N.E. Ohio. The theater is performing Annie. Cast members perform scenes set in 1933 during the great depression. As actors they portray cold & hungry folks living n the streets of NYC. Many cast members were unaware that in NE Ohio many children go without meals sometimes for days. The cast then contacted the Children's Hunger Alliance in hopes of providing hot meals to children in need during the upcoming cold months. Cast member, David Chizek, owner of Sublime Salon in Orange Village held a Cut-a-thon on Sunday, Dec. 12. In just a few hours he raised close to $200 for the Children's Hunger Alliance. "We hoped to bring in much more but I think the weather may have hindered people from coming out." States Chizek.

Shelby Hersh, owner of Jo Hair in Beachwood, and also the father of one of the 2 Annies in the cast offered to hold a second Cut-a-thon this Sunday, Dec. 19. All those in need of a great cut for a great cause can visit Jo Hair at 24300 Chagrin Blvd on Sunday, Dec.19 from 10 am - 1 pm. A minimum donation of $15 for the Children's Hunger Alliance is the only fee! For more information those interested can contact Jo Hair at 216-292-1199.
Contributions can also be given at any of the last 3 Annie performances Friday Dec. 17 at 8 pm, sat. Dec. 18 at 2 pm & Sunday Dec. 19 at 2 pm.. Representatives from the Hunger Alliance are present at each show.
