*Noon Concert Features First Double Bill*

*Jim Snivley and Gary Nelson Play January 21st*

SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO – For the first time since the noon concerts at
French Creek Nature Center started last year, TrueNorth Cultural Arts will
present a program featuring two very talented singer/songwriters. According
to Director Rick Fortney, “this show will feature two popular acts with
performing credentials from all over Northeast Ohio.”

Jim Snivley, known for his recent gigs hosting open mics at Riders Inn and
the Beck Café, has built a following by playing venues as diverse as the
Winchester, The Kent Stage and area house concerts. He brings with him a
collection of original songs that range from tender love ballads to
political commentary. Jim’s style is a little reminiscent of songs like The
Kingston Trio’s “Scotch and Soda” but it is so much more than that.
Combining melodic guitar work and vocals, Jim blend great storytelling with
what is always an enjoyable performance.

“I used to think of myself as a folk singer,” says Gary Nelson, “until I
read that I was in fact a traditional, acoustic Americana roots artiste. Who
knew?” This Quaker City/Ohio Hills Folk Festival 2006 fiddle champion is
always entertaining whether performing his own tunes or offering his
personal take on traditional Americana, folk and bluegrass songs. In
addition to the fiddle, Gary plays guitar, mandolin and banjo and brings a
sense of excitement to his sets. He has performed during the Lakewood Arts
Festival, hosted several open mic nights and opened for friend of the noon
concerts, Jim Schafer, at the Winchester.

“This was an easy show to put together,” says Bob Sammon, host of the Noon
Concert Series. ”Jim and Gary have worked together before and they have a
natural chemistry fueled by their long friendship.” According to Sammon, the
two performers will bring a wider variety of music to the French Creek show
and he is looking forward to a large audience for this always free event.

If all goes as planned TrueNorth will be able to offer a box lunch for just
$6.50 by the time the January show rolls around. French Creek Nature Center
is located at 4530 Colorado Avenue in Sheffield Lake. For more information
or directions you can reach them at (440) 949-5200.
