*About the artist*

From the covers of VIBE magazine to red carpet events that make headlines
not just in New York City and Hollywood but around the world, award-winning
photographer Ronnie Wright has photographed the biggest names in music and
entertainment for 30 years. Once a performer himself, Ronnie found greater
fulfillment finding the perfect moment to capture the beauty and candidness
of celebrities at work and play. Although his favorite subjects are his
children, Hollywood A-listers such as Denzel Washington and Will Smith; and
recording artists including Madonna, Tony Bennett, and Quincy Jones all pay
attention when Ronnie calls their name on the red carpet. “Over the years,
I’ve built relationships with people. That’s how I got all the great shots
for the pages of VIBE, including the 1995 cover of Mike Tyson.” Ronnie’s
work also graced the pages of Essence and Ebony and numerous album covers
for Warner Bros., Sony, and Motown. In addition to his featured work at the
African American Museum of Philadelphia and the APEX Museum in Atlanta,
Ronnie was honored with the 2010 *Black Out Award* for excellence in fashion
and portrait photography as well as being named *Photographer of the
Year*at the 2002
*Urban Fashion Awards*.
