LCCC Civic Concert Band to Showcase 'New Stuff'

 

The LCCC Civic Concert Band will present "New Stuff" at 3 p.m., Sunday,
February 20 in Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts Center.
This free concert is directed by Mark Wainwright and will feature music
that the concert band has not previously performed and new music that
has just been published.

LCCC Civic Orchestra to Perform on February 5

The Lorain County Community College Civic Orchestra will perform at 7:30
p.m., Saturday, February 5 at LCCC's Stocker Arts Center.

 

Tickets are $7 for general admission; $6 for LCCC students, staff and
Buckeye cardholders; and $5 each for groups of 15 or more. Tickets may
be purchased online at www.lorainccc.edu/stocker, or by calling the
Stocker Arts Center box office at 800-995-5222 (ext. 4040) from 12-6
p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets are also available at the box
office, located in the lobby of the Stocker Arts Center.

Gerald Evans will conduct the evening's performance and Linda Gardner
will be featured in an organ solo. The night will also feature a new
work, "The Arrival of Spring," written by orchestra member and Oberlin
College faculty member Bruce Richards.

 

Also on the program are the "Symphonic Dances" by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
They were completed in 1940 and constitute Rachmaninoff's last work.

LCCC Civic Jazz Band to Perform on February 19

The Lorain County Community College Civic Jazz Band will perform at 7:30
p.m., Sunday, February 19 at LCCC's Stocker Arts Center. 

 

Tickets are $7 for general admission; $6 for LCCC students, staff and
Buckeye cardholders; and $5 each for groups of 15 or more. Tickets may

The concert's hidden theme includes "got rhythm," some cheesecake, a
little oleo and you may "Meet the Flintstones."  LCCC's Civic Jazz Band
is directed by Jeff Meyers.
