A weather reporter on her way out of Indiana and on to Washington.
Warnock Wildgrave: 45 - 65. Consummate grouch. Tense. Willum is designing a hotel for him.

PREPARATION
Please prepare a one- to two-minute comedic monologue.
Readings from the script.
Please bring your calendar with you to the auditions in order to declare any potential conflict dates that you may have. Conflicts reported after casting may result in re-casting.
Rohn Thomas (Director) is an actor for stage and film, director and teacher. For Weathervane, he directed Perfect Wedding, The Lion in Winter, The Cocktail Hour, Translations, Master Harold.and the boys and Medea. His screen credits include roles in Welcome to Collinwood, The Mothman Prophesies, The West Wing, The Shawshank Redemption, Sudden Death, Telling Lies in America and many others. Rohn produces and directs short films for Kent State University, where he teaches Acting for the Camera.
Weathervane Playhouse is committed to non-traditional casting.

PREPARATION
Please prepare TWO brief, contrasting songs from
contemporary musical theater (may be from Pippin).

Casting Requirements: All roles require adults (18 or over) except Theo.
The Players: An ensemble of 12-14 singer/dancers. Each sings, dances and plays a variety of roles. All ages 18 and over with strong dancing skills needed.
PIPPIN: Earnest, attractive, misguided young man. Age range 18 - 25 Tenor or Baritone
BERTHE: Pippin's saucy Grandmother. Age 50+ Comic Alto role
CATHERINE: An attractive young widow. Age range 20-30 Alto
CHARLES: Pippin's domineering father. Age 45+ Baritone
FASTRADA: Pippin's conniving stepmother. Strong dancer/mover. Soprano/Mezzo
LEADING PLAYER: The Emcee of the show. Dynamic, magnetic singer/dancer. Male or female. Baritone or Mezzo Soprano.
LEWIS: Pippin's self-absorbed stepbrother. Bari-tenor
THEO: Catherine's 8-year-old son.
Eric Van Baars (Director) directed The Sum of Us last season at Weathervane Playhouse. As Associate Professor in the School of Theatre and Dance, Eric teaches Movement and Acting and has directed productions of Oklahoma, The Diviners, Lysistrata, On The Verge, Honk!, The Wild Party, and A New Brain. He serves as Assistant Artistic Director of Porthouse Theatre where he has directed Pump Boys and Dinettes and Dames at Sea and choreography for Once On This Island, Big River, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and The Fantasticks. On the Porthouse stage, he has appeared in The Music Man ( Harold Hill), The Odd Couple ( Felix) Anything Goes ( Lord Evelyn), Sweet Charity ( Oscar), Jesus Christ Superstar ( Herod), Guys and Dolls (Benny ), and Oklahoma! (Will Parker). As a choreographer/director, Eric's work has been seen at the Halle Theater, St. Louis Rep, Connecticut Rep, Berea Summer Theatre, Weathervane Playhouse and Cain Park.
