Based on the popular 1988 comedy film starring Steve Martin and Michael
Caine, /Dirty Rotten Scoundrels/ is a musical about on two con men
living on the French Riviera; high-brow Lawrence Jameson (Rob Albrecht)
makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money, while
low-brow Freddy Benson (Trey Gilpin) swindles women with lies about his
ill grandmother. After a chance meeting, they unsuccessfully attempt to
work together only to find that the town isn't big enough for the two of
them. So they make a bet: the first one to swindle $50,000 from a young
heiress (Heather Hersh) triumphs and the other must leave town. What
follows are a series of musical schemes, masquerades and double-crosses
in which nothing may ever be exactly what it seems!
/Dirty Rotten Scoundrels/ features the music and lyrics of David Yazbek
(/The Full Monty/) and a book by Jeffrey Lane. It had its world premiere
at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre in September 2004, and opened on
Broadway in March 2005 to rave reviews, and was awarded 11 Tony Award
nominations, including Best Musical.

CVLT's /Hear Who's Here/ series of local speakers kicks off with Amy
Sancetta, a Moreland Hills Village resident, is a 28-year veteran staff
photographer with the Associated Press (AP), the global news gathering
organization. Amy won the Pulitzer Prize in feature photography in 1992,
and was named, in 1993, the Associated Press top sports photographer
worldwide.
Amy's presentation will highlight her professional journey from Orange
High School yearbook photographer to national photographer for the
Associated Press (AP): one day she was shooting the area Chagrin vs.
Orange high school football game; turn many pages forward to 2010, and
she is headed to Vancouver, Canada to cover her 11th Olympic Games.
Her presentation will include a career overview, from local to
international; an explanation of what is the Associated Press; and a
music-accompanied PowerPoint presentation of her favorite images. Amy
will also provide a how-to on vastly improving one's own picture making
abilities.
A selection of her pictures will be available for sale including sports,
news and feature items.
This three-part initial series will be held on the first Wednesday of
each month at CVLT's River Street Playhouse
<http://www.cvlt.org/riverstreet.php>, and commences with photographer
Amy Sancetta on March 2nd
<http://www.cvlt.org/81stSeason/hwh-sancetta.php>, and continues with
author Scott Lax on April 6th
<http://www.cvlt.org/81stSeason/hwh-lax.php> and cartoonist Jenny
Campbell on May 4th <http://www.cvlt.org/81stSeason/hwh-campbell.php>.
Seating will be limited, so please reserve your seats soon!

*/AUDITIONS <http://www.cvlt.org/auditions.php>: The Rocky Horror Show/*
CVLT will be holding auditions in March for Richard O'Brien's original
musical /The Rocky Horror Show/ <81stSeason/rockyhorror.php>, which
spawned the 1975 cult-classic film, /The Rocky Horror Picture Show/.
It's the story of two naive teens, Brad and Janet, who stumble into the
castle of the lust-driven transvestite alien, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. CVLT
will round off its 81^st season with this raucous, rock-n-roll, B-movie
sendup, using the original 1973 script while angling musically toward
the more modern sound of the 2000 Broadway revival.
