The City of Brecksville's bicentennial celebration throughout 2011 will feature the great American musical The Music Man, running June 10-12 and 17-19. This unique presentation is being staged as a collaborative effort by the Brecksville-Broadview Hts. City School District, Brecksville Little Theatre, Brecksville Theater On The Square, Brecksville Community Band and Chorus, and Broadview Hts. Spotlights.

Directed by Doug Farren, music directed by Joy Fenton, choreographed by Jolene McPherson and technically directed by Chuck Valley and Scott McPherson, the show will take place at the Brecksville-Broadview Hts. High School auditorium.

Open auditions will continue Monday and Tuesday, March 7th-8th from 7-10 with possible callbacks March 14th at the Brecksville Human Services Center (located at the rear of the Brecksville Recreation Center on Brecksville Road). The minimum age to audition is 9. All interested should prepare a song of about two minutes in length (in the Broadway style, but not from the show), and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Dress for movement and be prepared to either read from the script or perform a memorized monologue. Please bring a headshot, if available, a brief resume of theatrical experience, and a calendar to check any possible conflicts with rehearsal or performance times. Rehearsals will begin April 6th and run 5-6 nights a week.

For further information about the show, auditions or for information on how to become involved in a backstage capacity, please consult the websites for each of the involved theaters.
