Since their '80s debut in Huntsville, Alabama, the a cappella sextet Take 6 has garnered 10 Grammy wins, 10 Dove Awards, one Soul Train Award and two NAACP Image Award nominations. The first gospel group to win a “Best New Artist” Grammy, Take 6 integrates R&B, jazz influences and devotional songs into a swinging, harmony-rich contemporary sound. The sextet has performed for four sitting U.S. presidents and collaborated with the best in the business, including Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald and Stevie Wonder, among others.
