FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Rabbit Run Theater's A Walk in the Woods at Lakeland

Rabbit Run Theater, in a collaborative effort with Lakeland Community
College, opens its production of A Walk in the Woods at Lakeland Civic
Theatre, Friday, Apr. 1.

Written by Lee Blessing A Walk in the Woods is a strikingly original and
deeply perceptive work.

Two diplomats, one Russian one American, are engaged in nuclear disarmament
negotiations. As the bargaining continues, they take informal walks in the
woods. Their profoundly absorbing and revealing conversations bring a
deeper understanding between them. Wonderfully insightful and ringing with
truth, A Walk in the Woods takes an unexpectedly humorous look at the nature
of mankind.

Unique to this production is the casting of Actors' Equity actor George Roth
in the lead role of Andrey Botvinnik, the Soviet diplomat. Roth has
performed locally at The Cleveland Play House, Cain Park; Jewish Community
Center, The Beck Center for the Arts, the Great Lakes Theater Festival and
Cleveland Public Theatre. Regionally he has appeared in productions at
Contemporary American Theater of Columbus, Sacramento Theatre Company and
the Los Angeles Theatre Center. He has several international theatre
credits including performances at the Royal National Theatre of Great
Britain, the Aldwych Theatre (London West End) and Viceroy Theatre
(London), to name a few.

On television Roth has appeared in Murphy Brown, Love and War, Doing Time on
Maple Drive, Get a Life, The Human Factor, Capital City, Tailspin, Fully
Clothed, Non-Dancing Girls, A&E Biography of Isaac Newton, A&E Biography of
Howard Carter, Civil War Journals, The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln and
Mummies .

Roth has also had roles in major motion pictures including Batman, The
Russia House, Nightbreed and Foreign Body.

Playing opposite Roth as the American diplomat is Brint Learned, executive
director of Rabbit Run Community Arts Association. Learned has extensive
theatrical experience and acted and directed at numerous theaters in the
area, including The Fine Arts Association, Lake Erie College, The Beck
Center for the Arts, Lakeland Civic Theatre, Ashtabula Arts Center as well
as Rabbit Run Theater.

A Walk in the Woods is directed by Robert Gibb. Gibb has performed and
directed at many theaters in Northeast Ohio, including performing in the
regional premiers of Rags, Falsettos, Chess, Assassins, Tommy and A New
Brain. Gibb authored The Lush Life, a cabaret act performed at Kennedy's at
Playhouse Square and Cain Park Alma Theater. He also serves on the Dobama
Theatre Board of Directors.

A Walk in the Woods opens Friday, Apr. 1, and runs through Sunday, Apr. 10.
Evening performances on Apr. 1, 2, 8 and 9 begin at 7:30 p.m. Matinees on
Sunday, Apr. 3 and Apr. 10 begin at 2 p.m.
