"Free Health Screenings at the Cleveland Asian Festival Health Pavilion"

(Cleveland, OH 4/8/11) If you are wondering, "Do I need to be Asian to
attend an Asian Festival?" The answer is: "No." The Cleveland Asian
Festival may feature Asian culture as the main attraction, but there will be
something there for everyone. If you like food, there will be 20 local
restaurants and caterers serving authentic Asian cuisine. If you like to
shop, there will be plenty to do in the World Market. Performers will be
there to entertain and games will be available for you to challenge
yourself. Another prime feature would be the FREE health screenings that
will be available throughout the day at the Health Pavilion.

The Health Pavilion will be located in the main corridors of
Asia Plaza (corner of East 30th Street and Payne Avenue). Major hospitals
such as the Cleveland Clinic, Metro Health, University Hospitals, and the
Cleveland of Cleveland will be present to offer a variety of FREE services
to the general public. The Cleveland Department of Public Health will be
providing free Lead screening for children under six. The hospitals will
offer free bone density, cholesterol, and glucose screenings. For female
concerns, there will also be private mammograms. For better access to
services, volunteer interpreters will be on hand to assist with translations
in various Asian languages. Information provided will have translations in
Nepali, Karen, Burmese, Hindi, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Cambodian.

If you are just looking for some healthy lifestyle tips,
join us for Health Talks in the Health Pavilion. n. Attendees are welcome
to sit and listen and even engage in questions on health related topics.
Represetatives from all the major hospitals will on site for more in depth
questions and discussions onservices and treatments.

The best part is that once you are done with your free
screenings, there is still an entire Festival to enjoy. Lolly the Trolley
will be giving tours around AsiaTown with stops at Ariel International
Center and Tyler Village (across from Asian Town Center). This will give
you a chance to get to know Cleveland's growing AsiaTown.
