'WHAT'S YOUR FIVE???"
May 13-15, 2011
 
2010 Program Auditions are now over. Did your auditions go  they way you 
had hoped? Did you get into the programs that you had wanted? If  not, figure 
out WHY?.  Take part in this intensive three  day workshop, "What's Your 
Five???", and get feedback, coaching  and career counseling from the following 
opera professionals: David  Roth, General Director of Kentucky Opera, Bruce 
Stasyna,  Principal Coach of Palm Beach Opera and Helen Todd, Soprano and  
General Director of Sugar Creek Symphony & Song.
"What's  Your Five???" means what are your five arias?  Maybe they are the 
wrong  five?? Do you have the right set of arias and in the right voice 
class?   Are your arias serving you in the best light to truly be considered for 
 employment? 

This is a three day intensive workshop to prepare  singers' audition arias 
for Fall Opera auditions by working with three opera  professionals to give 
you the total package: vocal beauty, style,  language and great acting. Each 
accepted applicant receives six  1 hour coachings with three opera 
professionals in an effort to create  the total package for the singer's audition. 
Each applicant also participates in  3 master classes held over the three 
days. There  are only 12 slots available for this workshop. (All  coachings to 
be held in Cleveland Heights at Church of the Saviour.) Application  is

Total cost of the workshop is $450 for a total of six hours of  coaching 
and six hours of master classes. Deadline to apply is  Wednesday, April 27.
 
Singers will work on:
Style
Diction
Phrasing
Dramatic Presentation
Vocal Technique
Breath support
Total Presentation

There is no age restriction to the applicant. This program  is perfect for 
singers straight out of graduate school that will be auditioning  for either 
young artist programs or opera companies in the fall or for  singers that 
have new repertoire to get ready for auditions. More importantly,  each 
singers gets honest career counseling.
 

Opera professionals include David Roth,  stage director and General 
Director of Kentucky Opera, Bruce Stasyna, principal  coach at Palm Beach Opera 
(for the past four years), Green Mountain Opera  Festival and former principal 
coach at Minnesota Opera for five years; and  Helen Todd, soprano, who has 
sung with Canadian Opera Company, Minnesota,  Arizona, NYCOpera, among many 
others. Helen Todd is also the General Director of  the summer music
