[NEohioPAL] Costume Designer/Coordinator Position with Stipend

The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is looking for a Costume Designer/Coordinator for its upcoming youth production of Disney's Aladdin, Jr.  There is a stipend available for this position. 

Responsibilities will include:

·         Meeting with the director to discuss the production's design and requirements.

·         Taking and recording cast measurements.

·         Locating and/or building costumes in the style of the show.

·         Acquiring costumes and/or materials within a specified budget.

·         Assigning sewing tasks to volunteers.

·         Overseeing the overall costume design of the show.

·         Organizing the costumes by performer and providing a costume plot to the stage manager for use once the show begins.  

·         Making alterations through tech-week.

Ideal candidates would include current college students studying theater with an emphasis on costuming and/or individuals with experience in costuming. Proficient sewing ability, high creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a team of volunteers are requirements.  Hair and makeup training/experience is also preferred. 

Rehearsals have already begun, and the show opens June 16, 2011.
