On May 18th, 2011, the Ohio Independent Film Festival 
will present Cleveland playwright Michael Sepesy’s film 
“Casualties” as part of an evening of shorts.  

The event will be held at 7 PM at the Beachland Ballroom, 
15711 Waterloo Road, in Collinwood.  Tickets for all 
OIFF screenings will be $10 and can be purchased 
in advance at Ticketweb.com.

“Casualties” is the writer’s first film and was written 
and co-directed (with film maker Ted Sikora) by Michael 
Sepesy as part of Cuyahoga Community College’s digital 
video/film program during the Spring of 2010.

The half-hour long film tells the story of an Iraq war veteran who, after 
receiving a mysterious package following his return home
 to his family, must overcome the ghosts of his past.

The cast features Joshua D. Brown, Iris Margarita Foell Figueroa, 
Skip Corris, Deborah Magid, Allayna Rose, Lara Lillibridge,  and Danielle Brown. 

Sepesy is a longstanding figure in the Cleveland theater community, 
and his theater work was last seen in Cleveland Public Theater’s 
production of his play “The Alice Seed,” directed by Allison Garrigan, 
a show that Christine Howey of Scene Magazine praised as “mesmerizing 
from beginning to end” and that Fran Heller of The Jewish News called  “wildly imaginative.”
