*Hungry for a new taste? Plan Now for the
**3RD Annual Guly**á**s-Goulash Cook-Off –** **Benefits for Restoration of
the Hungarian Cultural Garden***

* *

Tempt your tastebuds with over 20 new tastes. Gulyás *(pronounced goo-yash),
* popularly known as Goulash, is a traditional hearty stew, sometimes soup,
typically made of beef, onions, vegetables, spices and ground paprika.

“Hungarian cowboys, called ‘gulyás,’ are the namesake of this delicious
hearty, chunky Hungarian meal-in-a-bowl known as goulash to almost everyone
around the world,” according to Lél Somogyi, website editor for the
Hungarian Cultural Garden as well its historian. “Nothing is as great as a
big tasty bowl of gulyás with a some bread and a microbrew to make you feel
great and alive!”

The Hungarian Cultural Garden Committee of Cleveland will hold the
*3rdAnnual Great International Gulyás-Goulash Cookoff
* starting at 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 19, 2011 to raise funds for The
Cleveland Hungarian Cultural garden.

According to Bill Kolosi, who heads up the organizing committee for the
event, the Hungarian Cultural Garden Committee aims to raise funds to
continue the restoration of the garden which began in 2007.

Twenty-two chefs competed in last year’s event, which was held outdoors at
St. Emeric, which is behind the parking lot of the West Side Market in
Cleveland. Two awards were given: “Judge’s Choice,” selected by a panel of
judges, and “People’s Choice,” voted by the more than 300 guests, to the
best tasting pots of gulyás.

Kolosi adds, “Bring your family, especially dad’s celebrating Father’s Day,
and make the rounds from gulyás cauldron to cauldron, tasting different
gulyás offerings, and wash it down with a soda, or better yet a
locally-brewed beer, while listening to live and lively Hungarian
music.” Other
traditional taste treats, such as pogácsa (a bacon-rich Hungarian biscuit),
lángos (a Hungarian fry-bread), and strudel will also be available to
satiate your hunger.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased
online at www.hungarianculturalgarden.org.

*Got your own great recipe?* Anyone is welcome to compete as a chef and can
register online at the website or download an entry form.

The event will be at St. Emeric, located at 1860 West 22nd Street, in
Cleveland, by the West Side Market. Ample free parking is available.
