The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival Announces the opening of the 14th Season of 
FREE Shakespearean Theater with Othello at Notre Dame College

 
The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, Cleveland’s only source for FREE, outdoor 
Shakespearean theater, proudly announces its 14th Season.  This season, CSF will 
be presenting William Shakespeare’sOthello, directed by Aaron D. Elersich, and 
Love’s Labour’s Lost, directed by Celeste Cosentino, Artistic Director of 
Ensemble Theater of Cleveland. 

 
Othello opens Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18.  Othello is Shakespeare’s 
classic tragedy of ambition, betrayal, jealousy, and love.  



Love’s Labour’s Lost opens the following weekend, Friday, June 24 and Saturday, 
June 25.  This is not the play you’re expecting to see!  A very unique 
re-telling of the Bard's classic romantic comedy, this radically abridged and 
gender reversed adaptation is not for the purist - but not to be missed.  

Both shows will continue in repertory on Saturdays and Sundays at various 
outdoor locations throughout Northeast Ohio.Audience members are encouraged to 
bring lawn chairs or blankets and seat themselves prior to each outdoor 
performance.  There are rain spaces for every venue except Wade Oval, allowing 
performances to proceed, rain or shine.
