THE STORY: 
One day in the life of the American President. It's November in a Presidential 
election year, and incumbent Charles Smith's chances for reelection are looking 
grim. Approval ratings are down, his money is running out, and nuclear war might 
be imminent. Though his staff has thrown in the towel, President Smith is not 
yet ready to give up. With Mamet's typical adult language and no-holds-barred 
style, November is a scathing take on the state of America today and the lengths 
to which 'some people' will go to win.

Tuesday, July 26, 20107:00pmtill 8:30pm
All auditions will be held at Lakeland Community College 's Performing Arts 
Center (PAC). Sorry, no Equity contracts for this production. No need to prepare 
a monologue.  I will have you read directly from the script.  Additional 
auditions and callbacks only as necessary;  ALL ROLES ARE COMPENSATED.
 
Production and Rehearsal dates:
November will open on Friday, September 30and run through October 16, 
2011--Friday through Sunday. Of course you will be compensated for all 
performances. Rehearsals will begin sometime in early to mid August. Don't worry 
we will work around vacation schedules. In regards to rehearsals, you will not 
be called for rehearsal unless needed as this play is easily broken down into 
french scenes. 

 
EACH CHARACTER IS  WONDERFUL AND COMPELLINGLY DRAWN. SURELY EACH OF THESE ROLES 
WILL BE CHALLENGING AND FUN TO PLAY. A VERY THEATRICAL PIECE.  

 
The Roles:
Charles Smith : The President of the United States. A man with the mouth of a 
sewer and the political guile of a Borgia. Still, he was elected president four 
years ago. He is neither Republican nor Democrat...or perhaps he is both. 
Somewhere between the ages of 40 and 60 years. Not afraid to do what he has to 
do to keep his job. The language is the thing ... as in all Mamet plays, however 
President Smith is not a terribly intellectual fellow. From Shaker Heights, 
Ohio. (No foolin'.)
Archer Brown The President's Chief of Staff. A straight-laced professional who 
calls things as he sees them. Completely loyal to his President yet is able to 
see things as they really are. Between the ages of 30 and 60 years old.  A great 
role. 

Turkey Guy or Gal: A representative of the National Association of Turkey and 
Turkey Products Manufacturers: This man or woman is a real 'suit'.  Can be any 
age really. A real kiss but kind-a-guy or gal. Can sell Eskimos ice. Indeed, he 
has a special on bridges next week. 
Clarice Bernstein: The President's chief speech writer. A lesbian.  Between 28 
and 50 years. Was played by Laurie Metcalf on Broadway. At times idealistic and 
other times realistic. 
Dwight Grackle: Chief of the Micmac tribe, this Native American is the 'avenger 
of doom'.  Goes toe to toe with President Smith.  Many demands but is willing to 
deal. Between 30 and 60 years.  
 The aforementioned roles are great and demand great actors!

Auditions will be held in Performing Arts Center at Lakeland Community College . 
Take I 90 east and exit at the second exit, Route #306. Turn right (south) on 
Rt. #306. Turn left into the Lakeland Community College , the first light. Get 
in the right lane. Turn right at the stop sign. Turn right at the next stop 
sign. Turn left into the faculty/staff parking lot. Park at the other end of the 
parking lot and walk past the Clocktower and enter into Building D on your left.
