                                                                Auditions for World Premier
                                                      Holocaust Production

     Auditions will be held on Sunday and Monday, July 24th and 25th at 7pm., both days,  for “A Light In the Darkness”: A Story of Hope During the Holocaust by J.E.Ballantyne, Jr.  Auditions will take place at the Victorian Players theater at 702 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown.   The large cast calls for  8 men, ages 30 and up (including the role of Otto Frank); 10 women, ages 30 and up;  4 teenaged females (including the roles of Eva [Geiringer] Schloss and Anne Frank.)  NOTE:  THE ROLES OF ERICH GEIRINGER AND HEINZ GEIRINGER ARE NOT AVAILABLE.   Some of the smaller name roles also fill cameo roles later in the show.  Also auditioning men for Nazi soldiers who only have recorded voice-overs, and are not seen, during the show.

     A co-production between the Victorian Players and J&B Production Arts Services, the show will open on October 14 and run for three weekends through October 30.  The original script, based on the Eva Schloss book, “The Promise,” has already received attention from both the U.S. and Great Britain with inquiries as to when the script will be available for production by other theaters.  Eva Schloss will be present for the premier production.  Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled to begin toward the end of August.
