*INLET DANCE THEATRE OFFERS BELOVED ANNUAL FREE CAIN PARK SHOWS: JULY 27 &
28*
A highlight of the Cain Park Evans Amphitheater summer season are the
annual *Inlet Dance Theatre* performances. Returning for its eleventh
year, *Inlet Dance Theatre* is delighted to present two dynamic programs
showcasing professional dancers alongside students from its Summer Dance
Intensive (SDI) – a multi-week instructional camp for dancers of all ages
and experience levels. “Inlet’s inaugural performance as a company was 11
years ago at Cain Park,” commented Inlet Artistic Director Bill Wade. “We
receive feedback each year that these performances are an annual summer
highlight for many. We’ve learned that summer camps plan their days to
include our kids matinee…people schedule vacations around the evening
performance…and we’re delighted for the impact we have on our community. This
year, our Summer Dance Intensive students cannot wait to demonstrate their
talents to the entire community.”

Highlighted works from the professional Inlet company members include: "*
Create*," a work originally choreographed by Inlet Artistic Director/Founder
Bill Wade on Summer Dance Intensive ’09 students, this work was remounted
and upgraded on the professional company members; *“War Effort Eves” *– a
work which centers on three archetypes of American women during WWII. The
three characters represent the USO performer, the Hollywood escapist
dancer/actress from the big musicals, and Rosie the Riveter; "*This Could
Hurt*," a male quartet, will include two Inlet company dancers Joshua Brown
and Justin Stentz, an Inlet Trainee, Dominic Moore-Dunson and one of the SDI
‘11 Students, Taran Brown.

In addition, student cast works will premiere with choreographed by Inlet
Artistic Director Bill Wade as well as company members Mikaela Clark,
Mackenzie Clevenger, Joshua Brown and Justin Stentz.

Inlet’s Summer Dance Intensive performances at Cain Park are perhaps the
most comprehensive single representation of the company’s mission of “using
dance to further people”. Students of various ages, races, backgrounds and
skill sets travel as individuals to Cleveland Heights from both
international & regional hometowns to learn about dance. In addition to the
process of preparing for the Cain Park performance, students instill lessons
in teamwork, trust, collaboration, respect, self-discipline, social
interaction and self-confidence. Inlet company member performances of
Inlet’s repertory further demonstrate to students & audience members the
dedication and talents required to choose dance as a profession and how the
art of dance is used to speak creatively about life and issues we all face.
