[NEohioPAL] ATTN STAGE MANAGERS: Akron's "Art in the Square" needs volunteers

The Highland Square Neighborhood Association and Art in the
Square Coordination Committee are looking for experienced and enthusiastic
volunteers to act as stage managers for the 4 main stages at this year's
festival.

The festival is on *Saturday, September 3rd *in Highland Square in Akron and
is open to the public from 10AM-7PM. Stage managers will be asked to arrive
at the festival by 9AM to make preparations for the day.

Volunteer stage managers will work in shifts throughout the day. Duties will
include: operating sound equipment, helping bands/performers with set up and
tear down of their instruments and equipment, and maintaining a strict
performance schedule. Stage managers may provide their own crews if they
choose or other volunteers will be assigned to them. Stage set-up and
tear-down will be conducted by the rental companies before and after the
festival itself.

AITS will provide water and a shaded place to rest b/t shifts. There will be
food available for purchase from the many vendors setting up at the
festival.

Volunteer orientation meetings will occur at the following times: 8/13/11
from 10AM-12PM, 8/27/11 from 1PM-3PM, and 8/31/11 from 6PM-8PM

Meetings will be held at the Highland Square Branch of the Akron-Summit
County Public Library in the conference room.
