Mercury Summer Stock concludes its residency at the Cleveland Play House with the classic American musical, Show Boat, August 12-27, 2011. The first true American “musical play”, Show Boat is a journey into the lives, loves and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the mighty Mississippi River.  Jerome Kern's masterpiece is a treasure trove of unforgettable music including "Ol' Man River," "Can't Help Loving Dat Man," “Make Believe,” and "Bill."  Directed and choreographed by MSS Artistic Director Pierre-Jacques Brault, this epic musical is being presented in one of the most intimate venues in Cleveland, The Brooks Theatre at the Cleveland Play House, and guarantees an evening of theatre you are not soon to forget!

Cleveland favorites Mark Seven and Hester Lewellen lead the 30-member  Show Boat company as Captain Andy and Parthy, owners of the floating theatre. Brian Marshall, Jennifer Myor, Jonathan Ramos, Mallory King, Maria Lister and Nathan Early round out the players whose lives are forever changed by their time as actors aboard the Cotton Blossom. Brian Keith Johnson and Kelvette Beacham will be on hand to deliver the classic songs “Old Man River” and “Can’t Help Loving That Man” respectively.
