In New York, Lee Strasberg invited bob, then a fledgling director, to become an observer at the famous Actors Studio. When Bob became Managing Director for Weathervane Playhouse, he said his goal was to build a new state-of-the-art theater for Akron audiences. In 1970, Weathervane opened its season at the current location and Bob had been responsible for transforming Weathervane into one of Ohio's leading non-professional theaters.
