*CLASSES FOR HOMESCHOOL AND TRADITIONAL STUDENTS*
*AT GEAUGA LYRIC THEATER & ARTS CENTER, CHARDON, OH*

Homeschool – Save the Drama for Your Mama Ages: *8-16*  Times:  *Sept 12th –
Oct. 26th Mondays 10-12*  at the theater.  Instructor:  Angela Miloro-Hansen
Price: $80  Description:    Learn basics of theater and perform a show for
family and friends.  The show will be dependent on the amount of
registrants.

Performance at 7pm October 26.

Things That Go Bump!  Ages:  *11-17*  Times:  *Sept. 12th – Oct.
24thMondays 4-6
*at the theater.  Instructor:  Patty Osredkar  Price: $80  Description:  A
spooky one act to be done on the set of *Arsenic and Old Lace*.  Students
will explore the genre of Thrillers.  Scary fun abounds with use of make-up
and costuming.

Performance at 7pm on October 24.



*A Kid at Art  *Ages: *3-5*  Times: *Sept. 13th – Oct. 18th Tuesdays *at the
arts center.  9:30-10 for ages 3/10:30-11:15 for ages 4 and 5.  Instructor:
Cathi Mezzopera  Price: $60 for ages 3/$75 for ages 4-5.  Description:  This
is an interactive parent/child art class which lets children explore while
still having guidelines.  The children will be introduced to color, paint,
clay and other materials which will allow them to explore in their own way
and grow creatively.



Greek Mythology and Other Beasts  Ages: *12 – 18*  Times:  *Sept. 12th –
Oct. 17th Mondays 6:30-8 *at the arts center.  Instructor:  Amy Shea  Price:
$60  Description:  Explore the magical realm of monsters and beasts
described in the Odyssey and other ancient literature.  Students will draw,
sculpt, create shading and make masks.



Art and The Land of Narnia  Ages: *12 – 18*  Times:  *Oct 24th – Dec.
5th  6:30-8
*(no class on October 31st)* Mondays *at the arts center.  Instructor:  Amy
Shea  Price: $60  Description:  Illustrate in two and three dimensions, the
action and adventure found in the Narnia Books by C.S. Lewis.  Students will
use sculpey, make dioramas, and create landscapes.



Let’s Make Music!  Ages: *3-5*  Times:  *Sept. 16th – Nov. 18th Fridays
10-10:45 at the arts center.*  Instructor: Vanessa Pintabona  Price: $100
Description:  Parents are invited to join their preschooler as they explore
music.  Children will have fun singing, playing instruments and moving to
the beat!  This is a great start to a lifetime of musical appreciation.



Elementary Choir  Ages:  *8 – 13*  Times:  *Sept. 16th – Nov. 18th Fridays
4-4:45 at the arts center.*  Instructor: Vanessa Pintabona  Price: $100
Description:  Students will learn correct vocal technique and performing in
an ensemble.  Music will be appropriate to elementary ages.  The class will
finish with a concert for friends and family.

Adult Master Class Ages: *18 and older*  Times*:  Sept. 29th – Nov.
3rdThursdays 6:30 -8:30
*at the arts center.  Instructors:  Mark Cipra; Dan Takacs; Jerry Jaffe  Price:
$95   Description:  Join local directors as they explore a different topic
each week that helps both new and experienced actors gain knowledge about
various areas of focus.  Including: Shakespeare, Characterization; Improv;
Auditioning Techniques; Voice for the Actor; Playwriting.



Auditioning – How to Get the Part and the Scholarship!  Ages: *15-19*
Times:  *Sept. 8th – Oct. 13th Thursdays 3-4:30* at the arts center.
Instructor:  Madelon Horvath  Price: $85  Description:  This class will
teach students to choose and develop monologues – for high school, community
theater and for college auditions.  The students will build a portfolio and
learn techniques to get the position they dream of!



Introduction to Directing  Ages: *16 and older*  Times:  *Sept. 11 – Oct. 16
th Sundays 5-7 *at the arts center.  Instructor:  Karen Porter  Price: $100
Description:  This course will provide participants with the skills needed
to read and dissect a script.  Students will learn how to guide actors to
proper character development and dramatic scene requirements.  Activities
will include: holding auditions, blocking sessions, and character
development.



Introduction to Stage Management  Ages:* 16 and older*  Times:  *Sept. 17 &
24 OR Oct. 1 & 8 Saturdays 12-2 *at the arts center.  Instructor:  Karen
Porter  Price: $75  Description:  Students will learn the skills necessary
to become a successful stage manager with knowledge of responsibilities
required.  Learn to become an effective and employable stage manager for
local productions through learning all aspects of stage management.



Introduction to Character Development  Ages: *16 and older*  Times:  *Sept.
13 – Oct. 11th Tuesdays 6-7:30 *at the arts center.  Instructor:  Karen
Porter  Price: $100  Description:  Actors will develop skills to develop a
character.  Areas of focus include: Interpretation, vocal delivery,
physicality, emotional development and delivery.  The goal is to bring a new
look on how a character comes to life.



Introduction to Portrait Drawing Ages: *8 to adult*  Times:  *Sept. 14th –
Oct. 19th 4:30 – 6 *at the arts center.  Instructor: Jeral Hurd  Price: $80
Description:  Learn the basic shapes that form the human head and neck and
how to sketch them.  Time will be given to creating life-like, expressive
eyes.



Fun with Colored  Pencils  Ages: *12 and up* Times:  *Aug. 31st – Oct.
19thAND/OR Nov. 2
nd – Dec. 21st 7-9 *at the arts center.  Instructor:  Sandy D’Amico  Price:
$75  Description:  Join this intimate group of aspiring artists as they
learn the art of colored pencils. This established group welcomes new
members and will encourage the artist in you!



Beautiful Singing  Ages: *8 to adult*  Times:  To be arranged on a private
instruction basis of 45 min to 1 hour of instruction at the theater or arts
center as agreed upon by student and instructor.  Instructor:  Jeral
Hurd  Price:
$20 per lesson.  Description:  Improve your vocal technique, learn proper
breathing and form.  Individual attention will be given to areas of need.  Many
additional elements will be incorporated given student experience.



*Tap Basics for the Theater *Ages: *8 - 15*  Times: *Sept. 13th – Nov. 29th*

*Tuesdays 4-5 *at the theater.  Instructor: Lisa-Marie French  Price: $100
Description:  This class will focus on basic tap dancing skills while
concentrating on Broadway style tap dancing.  Students will learn basic
vocabulary and steps with each week building on choreography.



*Jazz Basics for the Theater *Ages: *8 - 15*  Times: *Sept. 13th – Nov. 29th

Description:  This class will focus on classic jazz instruction.  Students
will learn warm-ups, vocabulary and execution of steps.  Each week students
will learn basic choreography with a theatrical purpose.

Ages: 13 and upTimes: September 17-October 8, Saturdays 2-4pm at the theater

Combining practical application and traditional lecture, we can take you
from "Average Joe" to "In the Know" on live audio set ups, microphone
techniques, mixing, and real world audio applications.
