FIRST STAGES: VOICE AND MOVEMENT TECHNIQUE - For youth ages 6-13
taught by Joanna Li and Michelle Brown
Learn:
· music skills
· basic vocal technique, alignment, and breathing
· harmony
· basic movement skills pulled from jazz, tap and modern dance styles
· coordination and balance while expressing themselves in a creative atmosphere
A mock audition will be held during the last class of the session
Location:
University Circle United Methodist Church, Great Hall, 1919 East 107th, Cleveland 44106
Time:
7:00-8:30 pm, Monday evenings, September 19, 26, October 3, 17, 24 and November 7
Cost:
$150 for a six-week session – payable at the first class

Joanna Li (MM, Cleveland Institute of Music) accompanies and music directs shows at Heights Youth Theatre, Laurel School, and Beaumont School for three years. She teaches choirs, instrumental ensembles, piano, organ, and voice lessons and also serves as associate director of music and organist at University Circle United Methodist Church. She spent the summer of 2011 at the Interlochen Arts Camp, working with Intermediate Music Theater Workshop and also playing for the High School Musical Production.
Michelle Brown is currently pursuing her BFA in dance performance at Kent State University and is a member of the Kent Dance Ensemble, a pre-professional company. Michelle has worked with several professional companies in the area, including MegLouise Dance and Inlet Dance Theatre. She has taught Modern, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater, Tap, and Ballet at O’Connor Dance Studio in Parma, Ohio.
