Cleveland Public Theatre announces auditions for the Regional Premiere and Second U.S. Production of
ANTEBELLUM

Set in 1935, Antebellum unfolds against the backdrop of a southern plantation, a German concentration camp, the Atlanta premiere of Gone With The Wind and Berlin cabarets. Two seemingly unrelated stories span time and space to merge into one love affair between two men that challenges race, religion and discrimination on both sides of the Atlantic. Antebellum is a provocative play that resonates with the entwining realities of Nazi cruelty and Hollywood dreams.


Looking to cast the following roles:
ARIEL: Caucasian male, 25 - 40; a young Jewish man living in Atlanta Georgia
OSKAR: Caucasian male, 35 - 65; the commandant of a German concentration camp
EDNA: African-American female, 25 - 35; a young woman searching for her lost love

Equity agreements may be considered for this production

Auditions will be held:
Sunday, September 25th: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Actors may be asked to stay for call backs immediately following the auditions 7 - 10pm.

Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in 5 minute increments. Actors should prepare a 1 - 2 minute contemporary dramatic monologue.
**It is highly recommended that actors read the script before auditioning. It is important that actors are comfortable with piece before auditioning. Electronic versions of the script will be emailed upon request.**

Rehearsals for this play will begin in early/mid-January with performances in the Gordon Square Theatre February 23rd - March 10th. Performances are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings.
