The Capitol Steps Make Political Jabs at LCCC's Stocker Arts Center

Just when it seems the political season can't get any more intense, The
Capitol Steps come along and take the edge off with their witty
political commentary.

The comedy troupe will come out swinging at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, October
23 at Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts Center. The show is
part of the Performing Artists Series.

Tickets are $34 for orchestra; $27 for mezzanine; and $10 for LCCC
students and youth 18 and under. Tickets can be ordered online at
www.stockerartscenter.com, or by calling the Stocker Arts Center box
office at (440) 366-4040 from 12-6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets
are also available at the box office, located in the lobby of Stocker
Arts Center. Valet parking is available for this event for $5 per car.

Made up of former Congressional staffers, The Capitol Steps satirize the
people and places that once employed them. Just when you think you've
heard all you want to hear about potential candidates, tax levies, union
busting, and where was he really born jokes - just in time to influence
the way you vote in November - The Capitol Steps are coming back to
Stocker Arts Center.

The original group formed in 1981 and has since been featured on NPR,
PBS and many other television shows. As Elaina Newport, co-founder and
performer with The Capitol Steps says, "Typically the Republicans goof
up, and the Democrats party. Then the Democrats goof up and the
Republicans party. That's what we call the two-party system." It is
quips like this, sung to the tune of songs you know, that will keep you
on your toes and laughing throughout the show.

No matter what side of the current debates you are on, The Capitols
Steps are sure to have you rolling in the aisles. For more information,
