Reality Tour® – Dramatic journey with a teen ‘addict’ from arrest to overdose and funeral!
for
 Kyle C. Williams In memoriam
NORA, Inc & The EC Bridges of Hope Coalition will present the Reality Tour® at 6 P.M., Thursday October 27, 2011 at the Martin Luther King Civic Center, 14801 Shaw Avenue, East Cleveland, OH 44112.

The Reality Tour® Drug Prevention program was created by Norma Norris of Butler, PA in 2003, and is now promoted through the nonprofit organization CANDLE, Inc.
In cooperation with the East Cleveland Police Department, East Cleveland Bridges of HOPE is promoting the Reality Tour® Program for use in Cuyahoga County. The progam is dedicated to the memory Kyle Williams, the son of East Cleveland police officer Jeff Williams. Kyle lost his life in 2005 while experimenting with inhalants. The tour is recommended for children age 10 and up, when accompanied by a parent. Advance reservation is preferred as space is limited. Parental consent is also required. Freewill donations accepted. $5.00 suggested. Registration forms are available in advance at the MLK Civic Center or you can log onto www.candleinc.org

Participants will follow the fate of a fictitious teen addicted to drugs. The tour includes an Arrest and Prison Experience as well as dramatic Emergency Room Overdose Scene and Funeral scenes. A narrative by the “addict’ precedes each scene and includes the constant reminder to the audience that, “ Once, I was just like you.”

Each attendee will be given a drug abuse profile to adopt during the program, so that participants can become familiar with different addictive drugs as well as gateway drugs. At times attendees share their “story” of addiction in small group settings. Participants will have an opportunity to talk with an addict in recovery at the end of the program. Attendees can commit to a drug-free life by tracing their handprint on the Reality Tour® Banner and be prepared to adopt the coping skills for parents and teens that the program illustrates.

Please share this email with your friends, family and community groups.
