[NEohioPAL] FREE Real Film Acting Class with JW Myers

My name is JW Myers.  I've just returned from a trip, and I see that there
is some confusion about what I am offering.  I am offering a FILM ACTING
CLASS.  I am a working director/producer.  My perspective on teaching is
from someone who does this for a living - directs and produces films.  In
the past 14 months, I have directed two feature films (including
"Doughboy," which has enjoyed a theatrical release), and I will be
directing at least two more feature films in 2012.  I have over twelve
years experience teaching acting and improvisation to individuals of all
ages, and I have trained with Herbert Berghof, Dee Wallace (Stone), and I
briefly taught at the Strassberg Institute in Los Angeles.

I had thought my very clear disclaimer would have been sufficient to let
the community know that what I am offering is a CLASS, not some kind of
"casting forum" or as one malicious individual termed it a "casting couch?"
 I'm not sure what I've done to draw this persons ire; I do not know who
this is. I'm a married father of two small children, so the implication is
far beyond the boundaries of good taste.

Having also worked in this industry as an actor, I know very well what
actors are up against in this industry.  Yes, there are unsavory people out
there who seek to separate you from your money, offering nothing of value
in return.  These are subjects that I cover in my classes.  Actors need to
know the difference between things that are worthwhile investments for an
artist, and things that are a waste of time.  I think that you will find
what I have to offer valuable to you and your career.  I invite you to
inquire of my current students whether they find value in my teaching.

That said, I understand that many of you in this community simply don't
know me, and haven't had the opportunity to work with me just yet.  To make
things a little more clear, I would like to offer a no-obligation FREE
opportunity to TEST DRIVE my class next Thursday, November 14th.  That way
we can get to know one another, and you can find out for yourself if this
is something that 'fits' for you.

We do tend to attract a pretty cool group of positive, motivated, fun
individuals. It will be fun.  But, for the record, no "Casting Couch" is
being offered or implied here. :)
