[NEohioPAL] Thanksgiving Concert

On Sunday, *November 20 at 2:00 p.m.* Arts in the Cathedral* *will present
a festive *Thanksgiving Concert* performed at *Church of the Saviour in
Cleveland Heights* by five singing choirs, two handbell choirs, flute
ensemble, organ, and brass quintet.



This hour-long program will feature both new and familiar Thanksgiving
music beginning with *Now Thank We All Our God* in a dynamic setting for
congregation, brass, organ and timpani.* *The flute ensemble directed by
Virginia Steiger will play the popular *Dona Nobis Pacem,* while the brass
quintet, led by Benjamin Reidhead, will play a portion of Victor Ewald’s *Brass
Quintet # 1 in B-flat minor*.



Contemporary music will include *Mighty to Save* sung by the
high-school-aged Agape Choir, *Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart* rung by
the Wesley Bells and a setting of  Cash and Story’s *Immortal
Invisible*accompanied by Erin Reidhead, violin and Melvin Holt,
mandolin.

The church’s new tenor soloist Oswaldo Iraheta will perform the solo in
Gounod’s thrilling *Sanctus* along with the Chancel Choir.



The finale of the concert will be *American Rhapsody* by Z. Randall Stroope
built on well-known American hymns including Zion’s Walls.  This rousing
work will be presented by the Chancel Choir, GOOD NEWS, and Agape Choir
along with brass quintet, organ and percussion directed by Judith Higbee.

The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.  A
free-will offering will be accepted.

Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, 1
block north of Fairmount Blvd. The church is handicapped-accessible and has
