Nord Family Foundation Provides Scholarship 

for Boys Class Offered by Ohio Dance Theatre

 

Ohio Dance Theatre, is currently offering a free scholarship class
specifically for boys age 13 and older held on Mondays from 7:30-8:45 pm. No
previous dance experience is required and all levels are accepted. The
classes are funded by The Nord Foundation, a longtime benefactor to Ohio
Dance Theatre and are part of a pilot program in collaboration with Oberlin
College Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance, Holly Handman. The program
has three components which include the currently offered Monday evening
Men's Ballet class, a series of Movement Workshops beginning in January and
a culminating performance choreographed by Ms. Handman to be presented
during Oberlin College's Fall Dance Performance.  Ohio Dance Theatre will
target 4 area high schools for the Movement Workshops which will be offered
to students from each school's athletic, theatre and music programs.
Students who show a natural ability, physical facility, and desire to dance
will be selected to continue studies on complete scholarship at ODT.
