[NEohioPAL] Auditions for Spotlights' Coffee House Shows

The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is holding auditions for two 
one-act plays to be performed in a coffee house format.  


Sunday, December 4 or Monday, December  5
7:30PM - 10:30PM
No Appointment needed.
Auditioners will be asked to read from the script.  Callbacks, if needed, will 
be Thursday,  December 8 at 

7:30PM.  Please bring a list of conflicts for December, January, and February. 
 The show runs February

"Hotline":  Originally the second play in the compilation called Death Defying 
Acts, Hotlinefeatures a neurotic woman with enough urban angst to fill a 
neighborhood calling a suicide crisis  hotline late one night. The counselor who 
gets the call is overwhelmed - it is his first night on the job. This dark and 
desperate, 

wildly funny piece runs approximately forty minutes.Dorothy - Female, 20s-40s, A 
lewd, sharp-tongued, prostitute with a heart of gold.  Suffers from depression 
due monotony of life style.
	* Ken - Male, late 20s-40s, An eager, new recruit at the suicide hotline. 
 Quickly finds out that he's way over his head.
	* Marty - Male, late 20s-40s, A likible, veteran of  the "help" line circuit, 
he has become cavalier about his work at these hotlines.
	* Dr. Russell - Male, 30s-60s, The head psychologist at this branch of the 
suicide hotline, can be best described as a "motivational speaker" type.
	* Delivery man - Male, 20s-40s, Average Joe, working-man type."Peoples 
Republic":  In this new piece by Detroit-based author, Angie Ransdell, a robber 
visits a credit union and gets more than he  expected.

	* Ann - Female, 20s-30s, Level-headed and easy to relate to, she exhibits calm 
and understated behavior. 

	*  Has a certain maturity that is easily believable.
	* Tracy - Female, 30s-40s, Ditzy and flaky branch manager is all about 
performance and numbers in the middle of a crisis.
	* Shaniqua - African American, Female, 30s-40s, An over-the-top, strong-willed, 
woman who speaks  hermind.
	* Jill - Female, 20s-40s, a sheepish woman with a self-depricating attitude. 
  Best described as having a"door-mat" personality.
	* Melissa - Female, 20s, Young, bright-eyed temp, so eagar to be part of the 
team that she often forgetsthat she's only been working with her co-workers for 
less than a day.
	* Robber - Male, 30s-40s, Sensible, kind, and calm man who becomes easily 
distracted from initial goal.
