Magical Theatre Company, Northeast Ohio’s professional resident and touring theatre for youngaudiences and families, presents TheHouse Without a Christmas Tree Dec. 2 - 18 at Magical Theatre Company.

This hidden gem tells the story of Addie Mills, a 10-year-old girl in 1946 whowants nothing more than a Christmas tree. Her emotionally removed father won’thear of it, while her warm, wise, and altogether winning grandmother helpsguide Addie through that delicate relationship with her father. An unexpectedact of generosity leads to a rich, believable, and poignant change in herfather. As Time Magazine wrote, “This play reminds you how much you really dolove your kids. And how much you and your kids love Christmas.”

Kate Clay (of Valley View) brings the pivotal role of Addie to life with resiliencyand spark. Terence Cranendonk (of Copley) plays the distant father whoseoutlook is happily changed by his daughter, and Lissy Gulick (of ClevelandHeights) provides a quirky grandmother (and mother!) of depth, humor, and love. This trio forms an ensemble that makes for a very believable family.

Otherprofessional actors in this production are Magical Theatre regular Adam Hoffman(of Stow) and Molly Clay (of Valley View). Molly plays the teacher whom all thekids in Addie’s 5th grade class adore. Offstage she is the mother ofKate Clay who plays Addie.
