Joanna Glass’ TRYING Concludes This Weekend At Kennedy’s, PlayhouseSquare

The Cesear’s Forum production of Joanna McClelland Glass’ TRYING, about aging U.S.

Attorney General Francis Biddle, will conclude it’s Cleveland limited engagement run this

weekend.  TRYING premiered at Chicago’s Victory Gardens Theatre followed by a

successful transfer to the Promenade Theatre in Manhattan in 2005.  The Cleveland

production features Glenn Colerider and Tricia Bestic.   The story, inspired by playwright

Glass' own experience as Biddle's personal secretary from 1967-68, focuses on the

inevitability of decline with dignity and how two strangers, at dramatically different

places in their lives, can unexpectedly and forever influence each other.

“Colerider & Bestic fashion a friendship between their characters that feels genuine

and significant.”  -- Christine Howey, Cleveland Plain Dealer

“The performances are first rate…Colerider & Bestic play off each other with

compassionate fidelity.”  --Roy Berko, CoolCleveland

Final performances Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10 at 8 pm, Kennedy’s

Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, 1501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland.  $15.  Go to

playhousesquare.org or call 216-241-6000.
