ABOUT THE PLAY
RID-ALL: A Green Movement is a science fiction adventure which explores the 
value of environmental stewardship while educating urban youth and the general 
community about environmental sustainability. The experience is interactive and 
fun with a hiphop twist to encourage taking care of the planet through 
recycling, agriculture training and going green. 

AUDITION PREPARATION  
• Karamu House is looking for Actors and Hip Hop Dancers, teen thru young 
adults,  male and female, 15 yrs old to 30,  all nationalities are welcome. 
Please prepare a memorized one minute contemporary monologue OR you can read 
from the play that will be provided at the audition. Everyone Please come 
dressed and prepared for movement. 

REHEARSALS
There will be 4  weeks of rehearsals. Rehearsals will be selected (based on 
availability of the cast) on evenings, and weekends,  3 - 6 times per week. 

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

WOES AND GREEN TEAM Hip-hop dancers all ethnicities ages 15- 30, energetic in 
freestyle and quick learner of choreographer.

Rid-All: Male Age 17 – 25:  Intelligent, environmentally conscious visitor from 
another planet.

Derb: Male Age17-25: Friendly energetic neighborhood guy who becomes a 
superhero.

Dr. Greenhand: Male or Female Age 20 – 30 Scientist, nutritionist and activist 
for green movement.

Worm: Male or Female Age 20 - 30 Earthy character, great knowledge of how to 
take care of the earth.

Veggie Man: Male Age 20 – 30 Believes the natural way is the best way.

Narrator: Age 25 and above

All of the other roles will be doubled by dancers (ie) reporters, citizens, 
assistant to Dr. Greenhand, fans…
